CLUSTER PAN FLUTES

ASCII

The cluster pan flutes are a a semi-randomly arranged cluster of short tubes that are open at the playing end and closed on the other end. Functioning much like a pan flute the cluster shape disallows the tubes to easily be blown with a clear tone, and instead incentivize playing the tubes with an airy and imprecise timbre. When tubes are played multiple pipes frequently sound and generate chance operation harmonic structure. This instrument sounds fairly quite and is best splayed in a small intimate space with a focus on the complex and unpredictable sound output of the instrument.
