We are in the process of migrating to PBCore to better allow our metadata to be usable by digital standards.

Using Dublin Core and DCMI Metadata Terms I have constructed the metadata for a Collection level description with metadata as well as a single item description with metadata.

This set of ocarinas are part of my larger pitch fluid ocarina set.

these instruments represent the very highest pitched range of ocarinas I have been able to build.

These ocarinas are able to play up to 23500 hertz, which situates itself well above the human hearing range.

'Lips' GROWLER

Designed as a chamber that one growls into this instrument takes sounds made in the mouth and throat of the uses and both amplifies and modifies the sound of those utterances. The player growls into the instrument, changing the tone using the vocal tracts and an enharmonic shift is produced by covering and uncovering the opening 'lips' of the instrument. This instrument was built as part of my residency at SOU.

The Furry AVA (Audio Visual Archive) is an Archive of photographs, audio recordings, video, field recordings, field notes, and ephemera of the furry fandom. We are focused on primary media that demonstrates the events, people, culture, locations, and physical happenings for the furry fandom. This archive will be focused on primary materials that give a history to the events in these spaces, that document the events that take place, and that

NARROW SLIT MECHANISM

The narrow slit mechanism is an experiment with dividing air that is directly oncoming to the slit. Unlike other edge blown flutes which blow air parallel to an edge so that the column of air can be cut in half, the direction of air on this mechanism is perpendicular to the edge that generates the oscillation of the sound. The system functions by forcing the air out of the mechanism edge with two options of edges for the air to flow into, the internal standing waves…

PATHETIC LIPS

The pathetic lips are a double (single/lamell) reed instrument that work by having the direction of their reeds reversed. The double lamell reed is forced closed like other doubled reeds but the act of closing it is from air flowing though a tube first and flows out across the base of reeds rather than air flowing in the tips and out the back of the reed into the instrument body.

How to tag instruments

Instruments should be tagged in a manner that produces results on all three lists. Sometimes these tags overlap.
Instruments should be tagged based off mechanical function, common name function, and the general classes they fit into.
More tags are better then too few.

TALKING HORN 'Putorino' PROTOTYPE

This instrument is a horn (labrophone) based off the traditional Maori instrument the Putorino.

The traditional Putorino is an interesting case study of an instrument. There are multiple playing techniques that use the instruments body in a variety of ways. Most commonly the instrument is used as an edge blown flute, but there is an advanced technique that also uses it as a labrophone. When this technique is performed the singular hole located about half…

I made a choir of 7 'wind instruments' back in 2018, wind as in sounds like a gust of wind (a terrible pun, i know). They are very similar to the ones you have made but instead of changing the length of the bell end of the instrument I made mine so they can change the internal volume of the resonating chamber (much like the way you were adjusting the small wooden plugs on yours). Mine can change pitch by over an octave, but the pitch shifts are not c…

Interference ocarinas are a double chambered ocarina that is designed that the pitches played in each chamber interact in a way that produces difference tones.
